violin, Roberto Baraldi
Roberto Baraldi begun the study of the violin when he was eight years old at the Conservatory of music "G. Verdi" in Milan under the supervision of Wanda Luzzato. In 1981 and in 1984 he won the first prize at the International Competition of Stresa; in 1986 he won the International competition "A. Dal Zoppo" in Mantova for wich he was invited to take part in three concerts in Hong Kong. In 1988 the Conservatory, in collaboration with the Rotary club, awarded him a grant as the most deserving student and, when he was just eighteen years old, he achieved the diploma with the highest marks. In 1989 he played at "Schleswig Holstein Musik festival" and, from 1990 to 1992, in the European Community Youth Orchestra (ECYO), with whom he toured  Europe with conductors such as L. Bernstein, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Mstislav Rostropivich, C. M. Giulini etc. He perfected himself with Maestro G. Prencipe at the School of Music in Fiesole (Florence) and in 1995 he achieved the Solisten Diplom with Prof. Aida Piraccini at the Conservatory of Winterthur (Switzerland). Nowadays he is concert master in the orchestra "Gran Teatro la Fenice" in Venice. With these orchestras he has performed as soloist in many occasions. He has recorded for Tactus, Naxos, and Nuova Era labels.
