tenor, Enguerrand de Hys
Enguerrand de Hys started singing at the Conservatory of Toulouse, then in 2009 he joined the National Superior Conservatory of Paris in the class of Glenn Chamberes. During his studies he has participated in numerous masterclasses with Magreet Honig, Janina Baechle, Andrew Schroeder and with Ann Murray and Susanna Eken at the Mozart Academy of the Aix-en-Provence Festival in 2013.
Enguerrand was awarded the Adami Revelation Classics Award in 2014.
He is a member of the Nouvelle Troupe Favart of the Opera Comique and resides at the Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne. He soon became interested in the demanding repertoire of Song and Melody and worked with baritone Stefan Genz and pianists Susan Manoff, Jeff Cohen and Ruben Lifschitz at the Abbaye de Royaumont. In 2011 he won the second prize at the International Tune Competition in Toulouse.
With this repertoire he formed a duo with pianist Paul Beynet, performing regularly in various recitals (the Fabrique in Toulouse, the Hugo-Wolf-Akademie in Stuttgart, Château de La Grèze, to name a few). In 2014, de Hys and Beynet won the Gordes International Song and Melody Competition.
