Alberto Miodini was born in Parma and studied music at the Conservatory "A. Boito", graduating (summa cum laude ad honorable mention) in piano under the guidance of Roberto Cappello; later, he graduated with musicians such as Dario de Rosa, Maureen Jones, Trio di Trieste, Paul Badura-Skoda, Bruno Canino and Massimiliano Damerini.
He participated in the Isaac Stern Chamber Music Workshop in New York in 2001, where he studied with artists such as Leon Fleisher, Emanuel Ax, Quartetto Emerson and Isaac Stern.
For over twenty years he has been the pianist of the Trio di Parma, an ensemble with which he has established himself at the "Vittorio Gui" International Competition in Florence, ARD in Munich, Melbourne and Lyon. He was also awarded, again as a member of the Trio di Parma, the Abbiati Prize of Italian Music Critics in 1994. He has performed at the most important musical institutions in Italy and abroad.
Alongside his work with the Trio he also plays solo performances, both in recitals and with important orchestras, including the Symphony Orchestra of Emilia Romagna "Arturo Toscanini", the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Mantua, the Romanian State Orchestra "D. Lipatti".
He has recorded for Brilliant Classics a box of four CDs with Variations, Fantasies, Klavierstücke, Leaks, Miniatures and fragments by Franz Schubert. This year, his registration of the opp. 79,117,118,119 Brahms for Classic Movement is expected to be released.
He is a principal piano teacher at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali in Gallarate and holds master classes in piano and chamber music at the Scuola Superiore del Trio di Trieste in Duino, the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and the Fondazione Santa Cecilia di Portogruaro; he has also made numerous radio and television recordings for RAI, Bayerische Rundfunk, NDR in Hamburg and the BBC.
