The Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto was founded in October 1966 and, in over fifty years of activity, has established itself as one of the leading Italian orchestras in the most prestigious concert venues in Italy and abroad. Since 1983 the artistic and musical direction of the Orchestra has been entrusted to Peter Maag (principal conductor, 1983-2001), Bruno Giuranna, Guido Turchi, Mario Brunello (musical director, 2002-2003), Filippo Juvarra. In September 2015 Marco Angius took up the position of musical and artistic director. In his long artistic life, the Orchestra has collaborated with the most distinguished names in international concert music, including S. Accardo, P. Anderszewski, M. Argerich, V. Ashkenazy, R.
