bailarina, Pastora Galvan
The daughter of Jose Galvan, Pastora carries in her blood the tradition of her parents' baile and the modernity of her brother lsrael Galvan's dance, the most credible avant-garde flamenco genius. She, for her part, is a bailaora of recognized prestige. It is no coincidence that he was awarded the "Matilde Coral" prize in the 16th national flamenco art competition in Cordoba in 2001.
Pastora represents the current flamenco baile. In every movement. In her famous poses. Personal as only she can be. Defending a saga of great bailaores. Her father, Josè Galvan, and her mother, Eugenia De Los Reyes. Without forgetting her brother lsrael Galvan, who, for the occasion, puts himself at the service of his sister to make a proposal of difficult simplicity. Flamenca, minimalist and effective. Where Pastora feels like a fish in the water. Where she develops her full potential.
She gives an essence of dancing depth projecting us from past epochs to a contemporary vision. So she shows herself. Such as she is. As she feels. With a dance full of multiple details. With chant, baile and guitarra. Because as Manuel Machado used to say:"A fiesta is made with three people: one baila, one sings and another plays. Ah, I forgot those who shout so much and play hands!
Her restless spirit and immeasurable energy always lead her to new projects and artistic adventures. As in her last work "Pastora", where tradition and avant-garde coexist in a completely natural form.
