violin, Luca Ranzato

Born in Padua in 1983, Luca Ranzato begun studying the violin at a very young age, graduating from the "Cesare Pollini" conservatory in Padua with Piero Toso, a great Maestro of the Venetian violin school and an extraordinary interpreter of Vivaldi; the fate of Luca Ranzato's artistic career is already nestled in this relationship with the Maestro, which links his interpretations to Venetian Baroque music as a soloist. Fundamental and precious are the meetings with Pavel Vernikov at the Fondazione Musicale S. Cecilia in Portogruaro, Sonig Tchakerian, Luca Simoncini and Marco Rogliano at the Accademia Musicale in Pavia.
He is the first solo violin of Crotone’s ArmoniaAntiqua Ensemble. With the Accademia della Magnifica Comunità, directed by M°Enrico Casazza, Europa Galante directed by M°Fabio Biondi, Modo Antiquo directed by M°Federico Maria Sardelli, Il Pomo d'Oro, Venetia Antiqua, Oficina Musicum, Archicembalo Ensemble, Le Musiche Nove, the Andrea Palladio Orchestra, the Lorenzo da Ponte Orchestra and the Teatro Armonico directed by Michael Radulescu, Luca performs the most important literature of the ancient and classical repertoire with original instruments, using a rigorous philological approach and enhancing the stylistic elements of the Italian tradition. Luca plays with important orchestras such as the Orchestra d'Archi Italiana conducted by M°Mario Brunello, the Solisti di Pavia conducted by M°Enrico Dindo, the Solisti del Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza conducted by M°Giovanni Battista Rigon, the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto the San Marco Orchestra and Choir in Pordenone. He is currently a soloist with the Interpreti Veneziani ensemble with whom he holds numerous concerts at the church of S. Vidal. Luca has been participating in numerous national and international competitions both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles such as "G. Barbarigo" of Padua (1st prize), "Città di Vittorio Veneto", "Valsesia Musica". As a soloist, he has also recorded numerous works by Antonio Vivaldi (the famous Four Seasons), Giovanni Legrenzi and Virgilio Mortari, for labels such as Brilliant Classics, Sony, Dynamic and Naive.
For the baroque repertoire Luca plays a 1670 violin by Füssen, for the classical repertoire a 1790 David Christian Hopf violin, all brought back to their original condition and with copies of historical strings built by the Masters W. Barbiero, Antonino Airenti and R. Ashmead. For the other repertoires he plays a 1882 Achille Vinaccia built in Naples.
