soprano, Jeanne Crousaud
A wonderfully agile, sparkling, radiant soprano with a luminous voice according to the press. "A pure voice with acrobatic vocalisations" says Forum Opéra ; "Excellent both theatrically and vocally [...] who loves to fly in the high register" complete Opéra Magazine. Certain art critics perceive her as a Mozartian soprano but Michaël Lévinas describes her as a virtuoso of the high range, combining the experience of the baroque, the technique of bel canto and the memory of a contemporary repertoire specialist. Jeanne Crousaud, for her part, is defined as a rigorous and curious singer, intuitive and thoughtful, deeply singular who loves to play with the genres, above the norms and beyond expectations.
Having just graduated from the Paris Conservatoire (CNSM) unanimously with magna cum laude, she was entrusted two leading roles, opposed in style but close in difficulty : Ciboulette in Mesdames de la Halle by Jacques Offenbach at the Opéra Studio of Lyon and Le Petit Prince in the eponym opera by Michael Levinas (Théâtre du Châtelet, Operas of Lausanne, Geneva, Lille…), in which she had great success.
During her young career, Jeanne has incarnated the Mozartian roles of Blondchen in Die Entführung aus dem serail and Aspasia in Mitridate Re di Ponto, Elvira in L'italiana in Algeri by Rossini, Musetta in La Bohème by Puccini, Ernestine in Monsieur Choufleuri byOffenbach, the first Nymph in Rusalka by Dvorak, Amour in Orfeo ed Euridice by Glück, Flavie in L'Elixir by Hervé as well as Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos by Strauss. Furthermore, she has also been solo soprano in several cantantas by Bach, Dixit Dominus and Messiah by Haendel, Gloria by Vivaldi, Ein Deutsches Requiem by Brahms and motets by Campra and Monteverdi. Notably she has shared the stage with Felicity Lott during the Festival Européen Jeunes Talents in Paris and with Michael Spyres in Le Pré aux Clercs by Ferdinand Hérold in the role of Nicette at the Fondation Gulbenkian in Lisbon produced by the Opéra Comique and recorded by the Palazzetto Bru Zane. The young soprano has worked with many conductors including, Arie van Beek, Paul Mc Creesh, Raphaël Pichon, David Reiland, Giuseppe Grazioli, Thomas Rösner, Kaspar Zehnder, Vincent Barthe, Jean-Paul Fouchécourt, Léo Warinsky, Geoffroy Jourdain ; with the stage directors, Joël Pommerat, André Engel, Benjamin Lazar, Jean Lacornerie, Lilo Baur, Dieter Kaegi, Vincent Vittoz, Tom Ryser, Alain Garichot, Nicola Berloffa, Laurent Delvert, Florent Siaud and the composers, Francesco Filidei, Benjamin Attahir and Jean-Luc Hervé. Jeanne sings regularly with the baroque ensemble Desmarest, with whom she has recorded Enone in La descente d’Orphée aux Enfers by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, due for release in 2018. In 2017-2018, amongst others she will be opera singer in residence at the Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne where she will sing Zerline in La Sirène by Auber as well as Athéna/Pénélope and Circé in L'Odyssée, a world premiere by Jules Matton. She will be La Princesse in La Princesse légère at the Opéra de Lille and the Opéra Comique in Paris.
