Alex Esposito was born in Bergamo, Italy, in 1975; he is considered one of the most interesting talents of his generation. During his career he has collaborated with the world’s most important orchestra conductors (Claudio Abbado, Antonio Pappano, Myung-Whung Chung, Kent Nagano, Daniele Gatti, Fabio Biondi) and stage directors (such Peter Mussbach, Claus Guth, Graham Vick, Damiano Michieletto, Pieluigi Pizzi) and he is a regular guest on the world's most prestigious stages (Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Wiener Staatsoper in Vienna, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Royal Opera House in London, Teatro Real in Madrid, Opéra National de Paris, Salzburger Festspiele, Aix-en-Provence Festival and Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro). A sharp and outstanding Mozart interpreter, among his performances are to be remembered Leporello (Don Giovanni) at La Scala, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Bayerisches Staatsoper; Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) at la Scala first and then in Munich (he is the first Italian singing the role in the original language at an international level); Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) and Guglielmo (Così fan tutte). Alex, as a frequent guest of Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, is a greatly acclaimed interpreter of Rossini’s roles, such as Fernando Villabella in La Gazza Ladra, Alidoro in La Cenerentola, Faraone in a Graham Vick’s particularly successful production of Mosè in Egitto, Mustafà in L’Italiana in Algeri.
